Ignite Amps has released NadIR, an impulse response convolver for guitar and bass cabinet simulation. NadIR is meant to be used as a cabinet simulator for live playing and jamming, tracking or mixing inside hosts capable of VST or AU Plug-Ins support.
There are free options as well. Along with the LePou Free Amp Sim Plugins, there’s the LeCab 2 that can load up to six impulse responses at once, and it’s free. Another free standalone IR loader is NadIR by Ignite Amps. It can load two IRs at once and the plugin includes other controls like panning, filters, stereo control, and delay. A free convolution reverb from Impulse record, in case, you aren’t aware, convolution reverb uses software profiles to digitally simulate the reverberation of space, and uses a pre-recorded audio sample of the impulse response of the space being modeled.
The plugin is designed to provide superb sound quality with a low CPU hit. It features zero latency, making it suitable for use in live situations and tracking. It also features high-quality analog-modeled filters and delays for tweaking the phase of loaded impulse responses. The plugin can work in mono, dual mono, and stereo mode.
Ignite Amps – The Anvil– A VST version of the Amp designed by Andy Zeugs. Ignite Amps – SHB-1– Tube Bass amp suited for Rock and Metal. Free Impulse Response Loaders. LePou – LeCab 2– Impulse loader that allows for 6 Impulses to be loaded at once, allows for phase inversion and panning. Probably the most in-depth impulse loader.
Ignite Amps are my favorite guitar software developers along with LePou. I use The Anvil Free vst that slows down audio. guitar amp simulation for clean tones all the time and I’m really eager to test their new IR loader.

Why impulse responses?
Not everyone has access to expensive amplifier speakers. Using Soundwoofers free impulse responses you're able to produce high quality recordings without having to shell out thousands of dollars for equipment. The only thing you need is your guitar, your computer, and a digital audio workstation.
How it works
The impulse response is the sound of the amplifier speaker. Every speaker has a particular sound quality which will drastically alter the result of any recording – no one speaker sounds alike! By capturing the frequencies of the impulse response on an amplifier speaker, and then transforming it into a simple .wav-file, you're able to replicate the exact sound of that speaker digitally. These .wav-files are then made readily available on this site for you to dig into and start creating your next masterpiece.
