- The bottom right corner of all Kilohearts plugins is a resize handle for scaling the UI to any size. This allows you to get a good view of the controls whatever the screen resolution, and also comes in handy if you need big controls, e.g. when using Gain as a real-time effect on a touchscreen monitor during a live set. (This is not available when the snapin is used inside a snapin host.)

- So you could do that. But you'd still need to use clip gain or a gain/trim plug-in to get the level right in the first place. Basically, do what Elf says. Record at 24-bit with plenty of headroom and then tweak the waveform envelope trim to taste with faders at unity to get a rough balance.

- HI there, I checked out some other threads and was reading up on mixing ITB, gain/trim settings, plugs, etc. I was wondering something: I use SONAR 8 PE, and I was hoping someone could recommend a trim plugin that I could use as an insert in my FX bin, mainly to be put in between other plugs, etc. (which according to other threads, is desirable).
Gain is a snapin
Kilohearts plugins work great together, and all the snapins can work double duty as modular components inside our snapin hosts. This method would be INSTEAD of using the faders to pull down the gain before the master fader. The big difference with the Trim plugin method is that it reduces the gain BEFORE plugins. Simply turning down your faders does save you from clipping the mix buss, but doesn’t affect the signal going into your plugins. The only downside of this plugin is that it also increases the gain and increases the amount of saturation. What I do to get around this is use gain/trim plugins before and after the Saturation Knob. Both gain units are linked and this gives me an even input and output level from the plugin.
