VST support in Audacity On Windows and Mac OS X, Audacity is a 32-bit application so won't see 64-bit versions of VST plug-ins, even on 64-bit operating systems. Time stop free vst. The VST instruments found in 3rd Optics Freeware thread (or any other VST instrument) will not work with Audacity. Read up on the Audacity page, and if you still need help, let me know. Hi All. We just started working with ST for recordings restoration (we have several very big clients interested in this), and while the plugin for Winamp works like magic (maybe it is magic. That would explain a lot.. ) - for some reason or other the plugin will not work with Audacity. The plugin looks fine, and the 'Output' preview window shows the expected effect - but neither live playback nor 'Apply' have any discernible effect. The Audacity version is 2.1.1, ST latest version (I tried the previous version as well), Windows 7. I have the exact same setting on two PC's, both suffer similarly. Anyone have any idea? Clue? Suggestion?

Did you use the VST plugin (32 or 64 bit depending on your operating system / Audacity version)? I think Audacity does not work with Winamp plugins.

Odd. Can you try in a different host? I've had more reports about problems in Audacity about a week ago (assuming that that wasn't you!), I still have to check (will put that on top of my todo list now) what's happening.

Just tried here with 32 bit Audacity 2.1.0 (latest - where did you get 2.1.1? Or are you using a Mac?), and Stereo Tool v7.85 BETA074 (also latest), and at least that combination works fine here. What I tried: - Put Stereo Tool VST plugin in Audacity Plug-ins directory - Start Audacity - Load a file, and select a section - Go to Effects, click on Thimeo Stereo Tool - Load a preset (just any web preset), hit the button on the bottom right (forgot the name) - result: Processed audio in the file.
